Once more, but in a new and cold and penetrating light, I watched all the lives of stars and worlds, and of the galactic communities, and of myself, up to the moment wherein now I stood, confronted by the infinity that men call God, and conceive according to their human cravings.

I, too, now sought to capture the infinite spirit, the Star Maker, in an image spun by my own finite though cosmical nature. For now it seemed to me, it seemed, that I suddenly outgrew the three-dimensional vision proper to all creatures, and that I saw with physical sight the Star Maker. 
 I saw, though nowhere in cosmical space, the blazing source of the hypercosmical light, as though it were an overwhelmingly brilliant point, a star, a sun more powerful than all suns together.

It seemed to me that this effulgent star was the center of a four-dimensional sphere whose curved surface was the three-dimensional cosmos. This star of stars, this star that was indeed the Star Maker, was perceived by me, its cosmical creature, for one moment before its splendor seared my vision. And in that moment I knew that I had indeed seen the very source of all cosmical light and life and mind; and of how much else besides I had as yet no knowledge.

Star Maker is a science fiction novel by Olaf Stapledon, published in 1937. The book tackles philosophical themes such as the essence of life, of birth, decay and death, and the relationship between creation and creator. 

A pervading theme is that of progressive unity within and between different civilizations. Some of the elements and themes briefly discussed prefigure later fiction concerning genetic engineering and alien life forms. Arthur C. Clarke considered Star Maker to be one of the finest works of science fiction ever written.

A single human narrator from England is transported out of his body via unexplained means. He realizes he is able to explore space and other planets. 

After exploring a civilization on another planet in our galaxy at a level of development similar to our own that existed millions of years ago thousands of light years from Earth (the “Other Earth”) in some detail, his mind merges with that of one of its inhabitants, and as they travel together, they are joined by still more minds or group-minds.

	Hem definit la nostra cuina com a senzilla i basada en la qualitat dels productes, tant els del mar com les carns. En aquest afer, els nostres proveïdors hi juguen un paper fonamental: la llotja de Blanes, el mercat central de Barcelona i les carnisseries d'Hostalric.


La llotja de Blanes


Cada dia, de dilluns a divendres, i tan bon punt acaba la subhasta, ens arriba el peix per a ser servit a la taula a l'hora de sopar.


Habitualment, la llotja ens proveeix de gambes (grans i petites), cigales, peixet per fregir, espardenyes, musclos, cargols de mar, calamars, etc.


Ocasionalment, també algun peix com el déntol, el nero o gall de Sant Pere, i els popets i sardines de temporada.


També diàriament, de dimarts a dissabte, per mitjà d'un majorista, anem al mercat central a la cerca dels millors productes de cadascuna de les nostres costes catalanes i espanyoles;


El marisc de Galícia capturat el dia abans (ostres, escopinyes, navalles, cloïsses i ocasionalment, peus de cabrot).
Els peixos de la costa llevantina, també del dia (llobarros, rèmols, llenguados i xipirons).
El rap de Galícia i el lluç d'Avilés.


També disposem sempre de llagostes i tot classe de marisc, si s'encarrega el dia abans.


La carn d'Hostalric és reconeguda per la seva excel·lència tant a la mateixa comarca com a les rodalies.


Aquestes carnisseries ens proveeixen del millor xai lletó, de botifarres, de conill i de pollastre de corral.


A la carta, també tenim la vedella de Girona que la servim en el punt just de curació.


Intentem que siguin sempre de gran qualitat prioritzant els productes de temporada i de proximitat com els que ens ofereixen els cultius d'Hostalric i la seva comarca.


També tenim un petit hort, al costat de la terrassa, i a l'entrada del bon temps, ens proveeix d'enciams, tomàquets i altres hortalisses.


Per elaborar els plats freds, comptem amb les suculentes anxoves del Cantàbric, un bon bacallà, pernil de gla i els embotits d'Hostalric.


Disposem també de dues coccions diferents de cargols de terra, provinents de les comarques de Lleida, i de bolets de temporada.


En l'apartat de vins i licors queda reflectida la singularitat de la casa en oferir una bona relació qualitat-preu.


La nostra bodega consta de 85 referències de vins, caves i xampanys de 23 denominacions d'origen.


Encara més extensa és l'oferta de licors, que sobrepassen de llarg el centenar, destacant entre d'altres, 55 classes de whisky i 20 de ginebra.

	L’any 1933 aproximadament, en Juan Castañé i la Lluïsa Madreny, van obrir sota casa seva el bar Sport, a peu de carretera d’Hostalric.


Esperant temps millors, van mantenir el bar amb dignitat durant els difícils anys de la postguerra.


Ja a la dècada dels anys 70, amb el seu fill, en Miquel i la seva dona Trini al capdevant de l’establiment, aquest es va convertir en un referent en tota la comarca per la qualitat de les seves tapes, entrepans i carns a la brasa.


El 1980, en Miquel i la Trini, compren l'immoble del costat i, amb l'ajuda dels seus fills Joan i Carme, inauguren el Restaurant Parrufu i li posen el nom pel qual els seus clients coneixien la casa: 'Cal Parrufu'. En aquest mateix any, també es construeix el pàrquing i l'entrada posterior del menjador.


Si bé durant els primers anys es compagina&#38;nbsp;el servei de restaurant amb el de bar, aquest es tanca definitivament l’any 1980 i en el seu lloc s’adequa un segon menjador.


Molt aviat s’incorpora l’Empar, filla petita del matrimoni.


L’any 2002, l’empresa adquireix un nou immoble al costat del restaurant i es construeix un tercer menjador més ample i amb un caire més rústic que li confereix la pedra de les seves parets.

El 2011 es remodela tot l’edifici i es condiciona una terrassa en l’espai situat a la part posterior i al peu de la muralla, on prendre el cafè o una copa per acabar l’experiència.


Actualment, el menjador i la cuina estan dirigits pels germans Empar i Joan Castanyer que, tot i haver afegit alguns productes més a la carta, mantenen els principis de la cuina d’en Miquel: “UNA CUINA SENZILLA, BASADA EN LA QUALITAT DEL PRODUCTE I A UN PREU COMPETITIU".


Mentre que la tercera germana, la Carme, s’encarrega de la comptabilitat del restaurant.


Darrerament, s’ha incorporat a la direcció del restaurant la Carla, filla de l’Empar.


El 2021 han comprat el local del costat del restaurant on han arreglat un impressionant menjador de parets de pedra i sostre alt.


També han condicionat la terrassa de la part de darrere perfecte per servir dinars i sopars de cara al bon temps.
